The article reflects about the Reformation of Luther (1517), with the objective to understand the Christian faith catholicity on it. For centuries, in Roman Catholic environments, it is common to affirm the Reformation as a cause and expression of divisions in the Church and that to the Lutheran Church tradition there is no catholicity so as it is recognised in the Church tradition linked to Rome. However, Catholic theologians’ studies on Luther and the progress in the ecumencial relations between Catholic and Lutheran believers nowadays converge on the comprehension that Luther did not want to divide the Church and that he did not distance himself totally from the Catholic tradition regarding to the affirmation of Christian faith.
